Este artigo apresenta informações e considerações que podem ser utilizadas para a realização de pesquisas científicas e projetos técnicos relacionados ao turismo rural, enfocando especificamente o tema das instituições e da regulação (incluindo as políticas públicas), nas diversas escalas: internacional, nacional, estadual, regional (analisando o Norte Velho do Paraná) e local.
