Leisure and quality of life the city of Umuarama/PR: a spatial analysis

Nowadays, leisure is considered an essential part of our lives, for it is seen as a social phenomenon that provides space for discussions about similarities and discrepancies that are present in our society. In this context, this article aims to analyze the squares, wooded areas, lake, and bicycle path as public spaces that contribute to leisure and quality of life in the city of Umuarama, Paraná. During the development of this research, the following methodological approaches came in handy: descriptive research and photographic recording. The results suggest that there are many kinds of leisure activities that take place in these public spaces, such as walking, running, stretching, physical activities, sporting practices, being in contact with nature, and having great moments in order to improve quality of life. It was also proved that these public spaces fulfill their proposed function and also provide infrastructure and street furniture that contribute to the leisure practice and health promotion.
