O artigo analisa a inserção do Paraná no Mercosul, particularmente em relação ao processo recente de industrialização paranaense. Divide-se em quatro partes: a primeira apresenta informações sobre as relações do Brasil com o Mercosul; a segunda as estratégias de participação do Paraná no Bloco; a terceira as perspectivas da industrialização paranaense a partir da análise dos novos investimentos e de sua distribuição espacial, enquanto a quarta insere algumas reflexões sobre a questão ambiental relacionada ao processo recente de industrialização, no âmbito da Região Metropolitana de Curitiba.
