Abstract

This theoretical essay had as general objective the understanding of how the use of photographs can potentiate the practice according to the Bourdieusian sociology in the organizational studies. The ideas and issues have been debated in a theoretical way, in order to generate reflections on the theme of photography in organizational studies. Photography plays an important role in society, since it captures moments in certain contexts, through its visual aspect. Bourdieusian sociology was used as theoretical support in this essay. The elements that constitute the photograph were discussed, being objective and subjective in agreement with the history for Bourdieu and still due to its strong communicative power, photography as a discourse transmitted by the language. In order to achieve the development of the propositions, a relation was established between photography and Bourdieu's concept of practice. Based on the antecedent, it was discussed how the practice can be enhanced by the photography in the organizational studies. Considering these aspects, it has been inferred that photography can be considered the objective representation of the consolidated practice.
