Abstract

This article deal with a serie of drawings by Luiz Henrique Schwanke, an artist from Santa Catarina. It was made since 1978 to 1980. The drawings are armchairs in a naturalistic way, and it refers to works of renaissance, baroque and neoclassical work of art through their titles. The though about this serie begins with the theoretical discussion about the drawing in the sixteenth century with the art historian Giorgio Vasari and nowadays with the critic Agnaldo Farias, through the relationship between drawing as project and drawing that create worlds. There are writings of the artist himself that are used, as well as letters, reports and articles of his work. Relationships are made with works by Joseph Kosuth, Julio Conzález and Tamara Andrade. This article concludes that the artist uses the naturalistic drawing to acess a conceptual work done by the viewer, and that his work reconciles drawing project with the inventive drawing, representation and conceptual creation.
