Resumo

Paulo de Tarso nasceu, viveu e morreu como judeu piedoso, em um ambiente cercado pelo Mar Mediterrâneo, onde as culturas helenísticas e romanas estavam interligadas. Nosso artigo tem como objetivo analisar as construções de identidades étnicas na epístola aos Romanos, sob o governo de Nero (54 d.C.- 68 d.C.), epístola dirigida a grupos de leitores ouvintes de múltiplas identidades. As raízes dos movimentos cristãos surgiram no seio dos judaísmos, tendo como base diferentes grupos de missionários e pregadores que os criaram, a partir de convicções de um homem que supostamente ressuscitou ao terceiro dia, Jesus Cristo. Partindo dessas premissas, procuramos, por meio das fontes textuais relacionadas à obra de Paulo, entender de que forma a questão das fronteiras e identidades transparecem em seus escritos.

Douglas Castro Carneiro, Universidade Estadual de Campinas

Doutor em História pela Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG). Pós Doutorando em História sob a supervisão do professor Dr. Pedro Paulo Abreu Funari junto ao Instituto de Filosofia e Ciências Humanas (IFCH/Unicamp).
