Abstract

This article analyzed the relevant topics on the infiltration of urban water into the underground environment. Using the Scopus database, 4.749 articles published between 2020 and April 2024 were selected for systematic analysis. The VOSviewer software was used to group the articles into important topics and, from there, demonstrated the places where the topic is most covered. Overall, the results revealed a notable increase in the number of studies in recent years. The most covered topics are strongly linked to environmental management, life cycle assessment, sustainable development and climate change. Some countries are leading studies on this topic, namely China, the United Kingdom and the United States. Thus, we see a growing collaboration and participation of institutions from developing countries in conducting studies, showing a trend towards internationalization in research. The bibliometric review allowed a deeper academic study regarding urban stormwater management, aquifer recharge and environmental management practices, where it is worth highlighting points of convergence, areas of innovation and possible directions for future investigations.
