Abstract

Analysis of the Brazilian economy in the decade 1964-1974, divided in two parts. In the first part, the ideas that permeated the institutional reforms established in the period wich extends from '64 to '67 and accosts the era of "reformist imagination" are confronted and analyzed. In the second, the period from '68 to '74, called the "Brazilian miracle", and about which there is much literature, is rapidly analyzed. Attempt to critically interpret the model of development in operation since the second half of the decade of the '50s.
