The main objective of this research is to evaluate the hypothesis that sugar quotas are exogenous to output determination; the empirical test is based on SIMS procedure and 1952. 72 Brazilian dates: Basic results indicate that sugar quota is the determinant of sugar output and that expectation of future quotas als affect current output. Subsidiary tests were conducted on the homocedasticity and residual autocorrelation hypothesis.
