This study analyses the short historical evolytion of Victimology, as well as its definitions, concepts and aims. It studies the first concepts of Von Hentig in his initial studies about the victim. It analyses Mendelsohn's contribution to the building of Victimology, and its application in Brazil acoording to the law. It also presents several cases of practical application, and the conclusion brings theorical and practical suggestions about Victimology nowadays.
