About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Semina: Ciências Biológicas e da Saúde is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the State University of Londrina (UEL) under a continuous publication model. The journal is dedicated to the dissemination of scientific and technological research and publishes original research articles, case reports, and invited review articles in the broad field of Biological and Health Sciences.

Peer Review Process

The selection of manuscripts for publication is based on an initial evaluation by the Editorial Board, followed by double-blind peer review conducted by independent ad hoc reviewers, as outlined below:

All manuscripts submitted to Semina: Ciências Biológicas e da Saúde undergo an initial editorial assessment by the Editorial Board. At this stage, submissions are evaluated for their alignment with the journal's scope, compliance with the Author Guidelines, the quality of the writing, the theoretical framework, the adequacy and currency of the literature review, the methodological rigor, significance and relevance of the results, critical discussion of the findings, presentation of tables and figures, originality, and consistency of the conclusions. Manuscripts that do not meet these editorial standards are returned to the authors.

Manuscripts considered to have the potential to advance scientific knowledge are then submitted to double-blind peer review by at least two independent ad hoc reviewers with recognized expertise in the subject area. The identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the review process.
