The purpose of this study was to evaluate the mineral unbalances by the urine biochemical analysis. We carried out the study using 2 groups of animals: the first group was of 20 adult bovine females which received an appropriate mineral nutrition; and the second group was of 20 adult bovine females with defficiency and/or mineral unbalances. The serum analysis of Calcium and Phosphorus had not shown significant difference between the two groups of animals studied. The average for Calcium and Phosphorus were: first group, 10.10 ± 4,0 mg/dl and 5.13 ± 1.45 mg/dl respectively, and for the second group 11.24 ± mg/dl and 4.90 ±2.10 mg/dl respectively. The values presented by she renal clearance of Calcium and Phosphorus through the urine biochemical analysis showed that the second group had a higher renal excretion of Phosphorus demonstrating that a mineral unbalance was set. In the group of animals receiving an appropriate mineral nutrition values such as 2.30 ± 1.84 and 0.97 ± 0.78% respectively were obtained for the clearance of Calcium and Phosphorus. In the second group, with animals in mineral unbalance, the values obtained for the clearance of Calcium and Phosphorus were 2.06 ± 0.76% and 1.75 ± 1.08%, respectively.
