Estudo somatotipologico em graduandos de educação física

Abstract

Determination of the somatotypes of Physical Education's freshmen students. 48 males and 59 females were measured through the Heath-Carter somatotype rating form. Afterwards, the results showed an endomorphic component to be predominant among females and the mesomorphic component among males. The results showed slight similarities between malei students when compared with other students from Brazilian and foreign universities. However, results for the females were similar when compared with the Brazilian universities'students, but when compared with foreign universities'data, the mean of somatotype component was significant. The heterogenety and some factors that may have contributed to this difference among females were analysed by the author.
