Abstract

A total of 493 hollanders cows were examinated through California Mastitis Test (CMT) in the North region of Paraná, with target of studing the occurence of coagulase negative staphylococci on subclinical bovine mastitis. From these ones, 150 (30,4%) were positives in one or more quarters, making up a total of 225 milk samples. In 98 (43.5%) cultures, were isolated staphylococci, being 40 (40,8%) coagulase negative. From the total of animals, 37 (7.5%) showed staphylococci coagulase negative. In the biochemical conventional proves and by API Staph System were identificated, in a species level, 29 (72,5%) and 30 (75.0%) cultures respectively. In both of the schemes there was a predominance of S. hyicus, S. chromogenes and S. epidemidis.
