Objective: The objective is to understand users' interaction with contextual information made available by the search engine, analyzing the effectiveness and visibility of this resource.
Methodology: The research adopted a qualitative approach using Eye Tracking, verbal protocol and semi-structured interviews. The sample consisted of 21 participants, 8 undergraduate students in Speech Therapy and 13 Postgraduate students in Information Science at Unesp. Data were collected and analyzed using Tobii Studio software.
Results: The results showed that most users searched for the "About this result" feature at the top of Google Search or retrieved links. Only 38% of participants located the resource, highlighting the need for greater visibility and better positioning. Furthermore, 85.71% of participants considered the resource useful for checking the reliability of unknown websites, although they encountered difficulties in locating them.
Conclusions: Research suggests that the visibility and design of the "About this result" feature should be improved to increase its effectiveness and usefulness. Strategic placement and clear iconography are crucial to ensuring users recognize and utilize the resource appropriately. Analysis of Areas of Interest indicates that the content and design of the interface directly influence users' perception of reliability.
