Purpose: Faced with an emerging need for reflection on data entry in cataloging systems, this article proposes an applied study of the performance of RDA 3R, using RDA In Many Metadata Formats (RIMMF), which consists of a cataloging interface prototype created specifically for RDA.
Methodology: Since the use of a cataloging policy is essential for the elaboration of metadata in RDA 3R, in this exercise an application profile was elaborated based on the guidelines of the cataloging policy of the Library of Congress (LC).
Results: The exercise proposed in this article demonstrated RDA 3R's structural richness, granting the user several paths to access desired resources or even to discover new resources, based on navigation through the "paths" established by the relationships between bibliographic entities.
Conclusions: It is concluded that there is an increasing emphasis on the part of RDA in the relationships between bibliographic entities, which go beyond the resources themselves, inserting what was previously a practice resulting in a monolithic record, or a silo of data, in a universe of related data.
