Ethics, data and knowledge organization

Objective: to analyze and reflect on the possible contributions of the Knowledge Organization to the context of data, above all regarding the ethical complexities of this reality. Current digital interactions result in a mass of data without a clearly established structure. A fact that demands ethical discussions that aim to guarantee access, privacy and freedom of expression in this data-intensive environment.
Methodology: the research is qualitative, with the method of document analysis based on a literature review out in the Web of Science and Brapci databases.
Results: the results indicate that ethical discussions present in the context of data, also called Big data, need to take into account the dynamics and heterogeneity present in this context and the social guideline must be advocated by the Knowledge Organization.
Conclusions: it concludes that the structuring of data needs to be conducted by the Knowledge Organization and based on organizational, ethical and egalitarian principles that culminate in a more informationally and socially developed society.
