Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to describe the implementation process of a preliminary knowledge management model - adapted for a company in the steel industry - which intended to repair recurrent anomalies in an organization.
Methodology: For this purpose, a methodology of an applied nature (case study) and exploratory and descriptive objectives were developed. As a way of identifying studies related to this scope of knowledge, a literature review was carried out. Interviews were also conducted with professionals at strategic levels, focusing on the discussion of what the organization had already implemented for the management of its knowledge and what were the main gaps. A benchmarking with a company from the same segment was also carried out. After analyzing the previous steps, a first model version for the company was drafted, which was applied to a sample of 100 employees.
Results: We noticed a reduction to indexes close to zero in the number of operational stoppages of the organization and an average increase of 10% in relation to compliance with the routine of its employees.
Conclusions: It is identified with the investigation that the knowledge management contributed to the opening of paths in order to obtain more results in the company, revealing itself as a bridge for its success.
