Abstract

Objective: To present an overview of the main initiatives and services related to the use of FAIR principles in research data management practices.
Methodology: An exploratory research with a qualitative approach was conducted, based on a bibliographic and documentary survey in the following databases: Reference Database of Journal Articles in Information Science, Scientific Electronic Library Online and the search engines Google and Google Scholar.
Results: Important initiatives, tools and services that adopt FAIR principles for the development of innovative solutions in data management were identified.
Conclusions:
The creation of initiatives, tools and services has grown steadily over the last few years, playing an important role in improving data governance and sharing. This growth has promoted greater accessibility, interoperability and reuse of data, driving significant advances in the efficiency and quality of data management practices, both in the academic and scientific environment and in the social and business spheres.
