Abstract

Introduction: This paper discusses about the importance of the information culture concept on formulation and implementation of the Electronic government Policy in Mozambique, as subdomain of information policy. Objective: The objective of this paper is to present a reflection about the use of information culture in the Electronic government Policy in Mozambique, considering the socio cultural situation of the country. Methodology: Literature Review. Results: Based on Mozambican point of view there is no explanation of the governmentinformation that guides their actions and programs, in particular of the Electronic government project as well as there is a certain fragility of resources and information structures, reinforced due to the lack of inclusion in the public policy information, based on socio-cultural realities of Mozambique. Conclusions: Information culture represents one factor that influence the implementation success of Electronic government Policy, as well as facilitates the understanding of citizens, therefore, should be used to develop information policies.
