Abstract

In the field of solid waste management, still we check a lack of macroeconomic indicators, which are capable of establishing multiple and inter-relationships on the subject. However, many ideas of sustainability indicators, focused on the issue of solid waste,will go emerging, conformed the theme is gaining importance, . In this paper, we present some of these proposed indicators, with the goal of aggregate and generate more productions and proposals on sustainable development indicators, focusing on solid waste management.

Rafaela Rodrigues Ramos, PhD student in Environment, Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

PhD student in Environment, Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro and MSc in public health and the environment by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation-FIOCRUZ/ENSP (2009). Graduated in Geography from the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro-faculty of Teacher Training (2005); with lato-sensu in environmental analysis and management of the territory by the National School of Statistical Sciences-ENCE/IBGE (2006).
