Este trabalho de Sandra Jovchelovitch identificou um campo representacional revelador que mostra as matrizes do pensamento social brasileiro e de seu desenvolvimento em meio à relações de alteridade e diferença na busca de uma identidade nacional. Desta forma, ao discutir a dialética público privado à luz da Teoria das Representações Sociais, ela conferiu ao caso brasileiro uma especificidade que revelou a ambigüidade da sua vida social.
