O presente texto visa discutir o desenvolvimento da agricultura no capitalismo e entender a importância da agricultura familiar, responsável pelo renascimento dos debates envolvendo desde a problemática ecológica até os impasses da Reforma Agrária. Neste contexto compreender e questionar o processo de formação do campesinato nos últimos vinte anos perguntando quem são os camponeses, quem são os agricultores familiares a partir de dois paradigmas distintos: o paradigma da questão agrária e o paradigma do capitalismo agrário.
