Crises, Contradições e Caminhos: uma leitura crítica de Crônicas Anticapitalistas

The review of The Anti-Capitalist Chronicles: A Guide to Class Struggle in the 21st Century (Harvey, 2024) presents a sharp critique of neoliberal capitalism, addressing its economic, political, and environmental crises. Harvey analyzes the exhaustion of neoliberal promises and the rise of neofascism, highlighting the need for socialist alternatives based on class struggle. However, the review problematizes the author's emphasis on expropriation as the central factor of capitalist accumulation, without considering the ongoing exploitation in the production process. Additionally, it criticizes Harvey's Eurocentric perspective, which overlooks the crucial role of socialist revolutions in the Global South, where nationalism materialized as resistance to imperialism. The review reaffirms that the construction of socialism must be based on concrete experiences and historical analysis, advocating for the conscious organization of the working class and the need for a concrete socialist project to overcome capitalism's contradictions.
