History of the journal
GEOGRAFIA (Londrina), formerly known as "Revista do Departamento de Geociências da UEL" (Journal of the Geosciences Department of UEL), has been published in print since 1983; initially in paperback format, half the size of an A4 sheet. In 1999, after six years of inactivity, the journal adopted the current A4 format, monochromatic, and with superior graphic quality. With volume 12, number 2, in 2003, we inaugurated a new stage in the history of the journal with its publication on electronic media. Its periodicity shifted from annual (1983 to 1992) to biannual (1999 to 2009) and, from 2010, it became quadrennial and linked to the Postgraduate Program in Geography of the Department of Geosciences. Since 2014, it has been a biannual journal.
