Abstract

Circular Economic (CE) has been gaining ground in academic studies and attention in the business community. Inserted in a context of crises, scarce resources and continuous growth of the global population, scholars and entrepreneurs are pressured to find new approaches to production and consumption, moving towards sustainable development. In a scenario of EC implementation, it is important that consumers participate to have success. Thus, the study aimed to identify drivers and barriers to the adoption of CE in the perspective of the consumer of organic products. A systematic literature review was conducted. As result, It were identified seven categories of drivers and barriers that can help or avoid the CE adoption by the consumer of organic products: environmental (sustainability, environment, waste management, recycling); supply chain (knowledge, engagement, interest in the supply chain); information (knowledge about CE, information sharing, learning, training); market (consumer awareness, preferences, interest and demand); political - legal (laws, regulations, public policies, public awareness); social (aspects of society and community, such as job creation, unemployment reduction, public health, security, social responsibility and awareness), and technological (science and technology, technological innovation, technical capacity). This study results contribute to the development of CE in the context of organic production.
