This paper analyses the movie Funny Games, by the Austrian Michael Haneke, from the true measure of violence existence in reality (HANEKE, 2014); the different precepts of counter-cinema (WHEATLEY, 2009); and the notion of spectator-character, based on the character-spectator described by Deleuze (1990). The objective is to understand why the audience of the movie is induced to reflect about the consumption of violent images as entertainment, one of the intentions declared by the filmmaker in interviews.Downloads
