This article, qualitative nature, aims to expose, through a documentary analysis, the methodological inadequacies of a Textbook (9th Year of the Basic Education II) for textual understanding of photography. Concepts and representation of reading were based on Peirce, Bakhtin, Barthes. The results showed an incomplete reading of photography and inconsistencies between the advertised theoretical contribution and reading activities built in the textbook by the authors.Downloads
