Abstract

This research has as its theme the Visual Composition of the World March of Women (WMW). The March is a contemporary social movement, fluid and heterogeneous, with a broad political platform, which seeks legitimacy among the other movements, unions and political party, rural and urban movements, associations and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs). The agenda incorporates these segments share the agenda of the MMM and vice versa, as well as the specific demands of each. Thus the MMM interacts dynamically with the movements that compose it. Seeks, in this thesis, presenting the MMM in the context of contemporary social movements, which has as main characteristic the organization from the form of networks. The aim is also to reflect on the visual construction of DSS and its functions, presenting and analyzing five sets of images from the visual composition of the march, used in his second and third editions. To this were used as sources: interviews with the national coordinator of MMM: Visual Composition and Nalu Farias, aired in the media, the trade newspaper Folha de São Paulo and in newspapers, books and the site of MMM.
