Our working hypothesis is to determine it bone neoformation is induced by morphogenetic proteins (BPM) in the presence of intramedullary nail, on rabbit radio deflect. Three groups of animals were studied- The radio detect in group 1 was fixed with intramedullary mail; whereas group 2 received intramedullary mail plus BMP; and group 3 just BMP. The new bone formation was followed by radiographic procedures during 12 weeks. Macroscopic and histological evaluations were made in the 12th week. The radiographic results from group 1 in the 3° week snow a radiotransparent failure, whereas in the I2° week the radio defied was partially filled by radiopac image. Group 2, in the 3° week shows a discreet central radiopac image, that increased considerably in the 12° week. Group 2 shows a marked central radiopac image in the 3° week, whereas in the 12° week the radio dettect was totally titled. The intensity of bone formation found in macroscopic and histological evaluations varied according to the radiological evolution. Groups 1 and 2 showed delay on the filling of the bone caused by circulatory disturbances in the inner part of the diaphyseal codex, which interfered on the BPM induced bone neofarmation.
