It is assumed comunment that taste and smell play a little or nor role on quantitative long-time regulation of foods. Although preference, acceptance and food intake by non privated rats it is explained by hedonic mechanisms. Rats with VMH and LH lesions, slightest change in the taste of food or water may mean the different between life or deth. In this experiment found that integral milk phis 20% sucrose intake, by normal rats or deprivated of 25,50 and 75% of food, the taste and smell paly not a role only deprivated group of 75%. These animal go on drinking after be topicament anesthesied in mouth and nose region with thetracaine. Normal rats show a supression of intake of 50% compared with base line. In intermediale groups primted of food, the supression rate was in mean of 25%.
