This article was developed with the aim to characterise one pneumatics factory regarding their stance on corporate sustainability, following the classification of Hahn and Scheemesser (2005). From a qualitative and descriptive approach, a case study was adopted as research strategy. Primary and secondary sources were analysed as well as documents and interviews with finance, environment and human resources managers considered experts on the topic in question and part of the organization of the institution being analysed. The data analysis triangulation allowed to infer that the three points of focus of this research - motivation to adopt sustainability; managerial perception of sustainability, and sustainability tools - Industry P is close to the "Traditionalist approach". The case studied is likely to be considered as an evidence that, although there is already a recognition of the fundamental role of enterprises in the pursuit of sustainable development, its operation and applicability in the organizational context remain lacking further research, both in quantity and quality.
