Challenges of living well that women face in their careers: a study in the city of Ibiporã, Brazil

Nowadays, women have taken over dual roles and work hours facing many challenges to combine their career with their personal lives. This article seeks to analyse the challenges that women find in their professional lives when combining their careers with their family lives. The specific objectives of this study are: to verify what is more valuable for women nowadays in relation to their career and family; to verify the challenges faced by them as to combining career and personal life; identify if there are salaries discrepancies between men and women. The bibliographic research deals with the career plan and the labour market. For this work, a research with 380 women was made in Ibiporã city (Brazil), and the presentation of results was made with graphics and a descriptive form of analysis. The results have shown that women are breaking the rules established by society, and that they are frequently looking for their personal and professional development. They are also aware of the fact that professional qualifications are essential in order to be inserted and keep maintained in the labour market.
