Abstract

Objective: To analyze how the scientific exodus occurs in Brazil based on doctors in the area of Information Science, in which individuals from different locations in the country migrate in search of better academic training. Methodology: the Lattes Platform was used as a data source, extracting all the curricula with the LattesDataXplorer tool and from then on, all data processing was carried out for further analysis. Results: calculations were made of the average distances covered by the Doctors of Information Science, and it was also possible to highlight the flows of states throughout their academic training, as well as the main cities inhabited by these individuals.
Conclusions: it was observed that individuals tend to travel short distances throughout the training process, geographic location has a strong influence on the migratory process for training and that the city of São Paulo is preferred by individuals in the training process.
