Contribuições da dimensão sociocultural da Organização do Conhecimento para cabeçalhos de assunto e tesauros equitativos e socialmente justos

Resumo

Objetivo: Este estudo explora as pesquisas focadas na dimensão sociocultural da Organização do Conhecimento, visando identificar e detalhar estudos que contribuam para tornar os sistemas de organização do conhecimento mais equitativos e socialmente justos, com ênfase em listas de cabeçalhos de assunto e tesauro.
Metodologia:
A pesquisa, de natureza aplicada, adota abordagem qualitativa, fazendo uso do mapeamento sistemático de literatura como procedimento metodológico.
Resultados: São apontadas críticas em relação à estrutura e terminologia dos sistemas tradicionais, que refletem um privilégio histórico para uma perspectiva masculina, euro-americana, heterossexual, branca e cristã. As recomendações propõem a colaboração com as comunidades para promover uma representação mais justa e equitativa, bem como a incorporação de termos usados pelas pessoas para se referirem a si mesmas, termos representativos da cultura local e grupos sociais minoritários, além do uso de uma linguagem amigável e democrática, sugerindo a implementação dessas mudanças localmente.
Conclusões: Defende a incorporação de mecanismos institucionalizados para solicitação e acompanhamento da revisão dos termos em listas de cabeçalhos de assunto e tesauros, visando a transparência e a responsabilização das instituições na promoção da equidade e justiça social nos sistemas de organização do conhecimento.
