Ambivalence in evaluations in public competitions for teachers of Geography of the State of Paraná

This article discusses the types of evaluations applied in competitions for teachers of basic education in the public network of the State of Paraná, answer the following problem: The evaluation criteria published in the calls for proposals were improved in the selection of data, take into account the knowledge necessary for the exercise of teaching in Geography in basic education? The qualitative research methodology is used as a methodology, with documentary analysis of public tender announcements for the hiring of Geography teachers for basic and high school education, in the light of theoretical approaches that sustain the debate about the qualitative formation and the expected attributes of this professional. As results, it was verified the evaluation weakness of the last four public tenders directed to teachers of Geography of Paraná, since they use instruments, whose criteria do not evaluate the teacher knowledge in a qualitative, integral and complete way.Downloads
