Violence against women with disabilities is a theme little explored in Brazilian academic productions and contexts. The study aimed to investigate the experiences of women with disabilities who have experienced situations of violence and to analyze their understanding of these situations. Nine semi-structured and individual interviews were carried out. Data treatment was qualitative, and the ordering of information was carried out through the reflective thematic analysis of Braun and Clarke. The results were organized into three analytical categories: conceptions and types of violence experienced; difficulties encountered after identifying the violence; and overcoming violence. In their narratives, the participants demonstrated that they are in a constant movement of recognizing themselves as women with disabilities, occupying a place of visibility that contemplates their rights and values their experiences.
