Abstract

Virtual Reality (VR) as an immersion narrative has been explored as a proposal for innovation in journalism. This paper discusses how immersive narratives are used in the field of TV News, exploring its main characteristics of production and language, as well as the possibilities of fruition in the television environment, in the portal and in social networks. It presents the proposal of methodological procedures that include the revision of the literature with the study of the theoretical currents, establishes the historical course in the world and national scene in the field of journalism, as well as it analyzes an example of the use of videos in 360 degrees like immersive narrative in the TV News, from the cover of the Battle of Mossul (Iraq) in the SBT Brasil, May 4, 2017. The results highlight the possibilities of these narratives as potentialisers of immersion and of journalistic information.
