Standing on the background work of pioneers in denunciation photodocumertarism such as John Thomson, Jacob Riis and Lewis Hine, this article is about the meaningful changes that led to the emergence of a new social photodocumentarism: the one resulting from social projects that use the photography as a social and visual inclusion element. By describing various experiences in Brazil, this article aims to show projects which contribute to the formation of social photodocumentarists capable of building their own image and produce by themselves the transformation their community needs.
