This article proposes to discuss elements to compose an urban ethnography considering passerby perceptions as a study object about the urban space in which they live in and with which the ethnography establishes meaning relations. In the present description, the starting point is the ethnophotography incursion into Pelotas Train Station, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, using images as a revealing element of the place´s context aiming to discuss the modes of perception on the urban landscape wreckage, the city itinerary production and the significance of these spaces in decomposition. As a way of poetic intensification, this study also searches for a signification exercise considering the lyrics of Vitor Ramil, a singer and composer from Pelotas.
