Abstract

This article explains partly results from the research project entitled Visit to former Frederico Westphalen (RS)’s Municipal Cemetery aiming at showing - through images collected as data – the changes that have occurred in the city’s urban landscape. Photography, in this context, has been considered a document which allows for making records of the changes in society and works as a reference for the analysis of the past and of the present regarding the actions of disengaging an abandoned cemetery. From the project, there has also come out an image file, with a journalistic eye on the disengagement and transformation of the space formerly occupied by a cemetery.
