Por uma história política de Libri Tres Adversus Simoniacos (c. 1058)

Este artigo apresenta um estudo sobre o primeiro livro de Libri Tres Adversus Simoniacos, obra composta pelo cardeal Humberto da Silva Cândida por volta de 1058 e um dos mais conhecidos documentos latinos do século XI. Tem por objetivo revisitar um antigo problema historiográfico: sondar a identidade e a relevância histórica do corruptor, personagem que aparece exclusivamente no primeiro dos três livros. Adotando o conceito de “encaixe discursivo” proposto por Michel Pêcheux, articulo a hipótese de que a figura do corruptor demarca um efeito ideológico sistemático como veículo de um posicionamento no interior de uma competição intra-institucional pela hegemonia papal.
