Abstract

This text is a review of the book Uma introdução à história da historiografia brasileira (1870- 1970), written by professors Thiago Lima Nicodemo, from Unicamp, Pedro Afonso Cristovão dos Santos, from UNILA, and Mateus Henrique de Faria Pereira, of the UFOP. The work seeks to reflect on the field of the History of Historiography in Brazil, the organization of problems, questions, theoretical contributions and methodologies. The cut takes place from the organization of the modern concept of History in the 19th century until the institutionalization of the discipline of History of Historiography in 1970, separated from the discipline of Theory of History. The authors, researchers with great experience in the subject, aimed to provide an overview of the debates held at the meetings of the Brazilian Seminar on the History of Historiography, as well as an introduction to researchers starting in this field of research.
