Uses and readings of the work of a Baron: perceptions about <i>Political Riots</i> in the XIX and XX centuries

This article will analyze the process of receipt of the book Political Riots or history of the main political events in the Province of Pará from 1821 until 1835, of the historian Domingos Antonio Raiol. His narrative, focused on describing the political and social conflicts in Pará, between the decades of 1820 and 1830, was transformed by its grandeur and wealth documentary in the main source studies over past the Amazon, during the first reign and the Regency, and also received numerous criticisms and considerations from the intelligentsia contemporary and contexts later that during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries observed the writings this author through approaches, marked by the values political and ideological of each era.
