Abstract

War can be considered a central element in the Hellenistic civilization, for economic, strategic or ideological, and thus is a key element of this civilization. The arrival of a powerful military and its well-structured techniques of siege and battle can be considered the first concrete vehicle of Hellenism in Palestine. The Macedonians were due to the momentum of expansion and hawkish, an indication that new time were approaching.
