Ad Hoc Consultants

GUIDELINES FOR AD HOC CONSULTANTS

Thank you for being an ad hoc consultant for Advances in Nursing and Health (ANH). Your evaluation and comments play a crucial role in the publication process and the quality of the magazine. Associate editors choose consultants based on their expertise, and when receiving an invitation to review a manuscript, it is important to respond as quickly as possible, as deadlines are set by the online submission system.

GENERAL ORIENTATIONS

Content Assessment: Your analysis should focus primarily on the content of the manuscript. It assesses whether the work reflects current knowledge, incorporates the practical application of the knowledge produced and comprehensively addresses all relevant aspects of the topic. If you recommend comments, make additional observations that guide the author toward improvement. If your recommendation for deletion of the manuscript, please clearly explain the reasons.

Constructive Comments: The most significant part of your evaluation lies in your specific and detailed comments, to be entered in the "Comments required by author" field. These comments will be essential to guide the author during revisions. We ask that we maintain a constructive tone and be non-judgmental in your narrative. If you believe the manuscript could benefit from revisions or deserves acceptance, encourage the author in your comments.

Conflicts of interest: It is extremely important that you maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript, treating it as confidential information, in order to avoid any type of conflict of interest.

Ethical Issues: Always be vigilant regarding ethical issues such as plagiarism, fraud, and other evidence. If you suspect plagiarism, notify the editor immediately, providing details of the previous work that was copied. In cases of suspected fraud, we recommend discussing the issue directly with the publisher. Furthermore, ensure that research involving human subjects has respected confidentiality and complies with conditional ethical standards.

We appreciate your dedication as an Ad Hoc consultant, as it is fundamental to the excellence of Advances in Nursing and Health (ANH).
