Observando as características da recente reestruturação industrial do capitalismo gerencial, e sem descuidar das especificidades presentes nas formações sociais atrasadas, o artigo busca comparar as estratégias de crescimento de duas firmas de equipamentos elétricos com origens na Região Sul do Brasil durante os anos 1990. Na parte conclusiva, discorre sobre as perspectivas de crescimento da indústria em foco no contexto do governo Lula.
