This research aims to investigate the pattern of spatial distribution of ways afforestation in urbanized areas of the municipalities of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, its relationship with the local average temperature and with the climatic typologies of the state. Data from the IBGE on afforestation of ways in urbanized areas were used; the average temperature estimates of the municipalities were collected on the Ipeadata website and the climate typology data on Rossato (2011). Spatial analysis was performed using the bivariate Global Moran and Local Index (LISA) for the 497 municipalities in the state. The LISA Map showed hotspots or spatial clusters High-High and Low-High in the northwest, on the border with Argentina; Low-Low type, and High–Low type in the northeast and south of the state. The urgency of planning measures is identified, encouraging the afforestation of ways in urbanized areas in Functional Regions Three and Five of the state.Downloads
