Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the production process of the urban spaces planned by the Belo Monte project, verifying its implications in the urban (re) structuring and in the sociospatial development of the city of Altamira. The research was carried out in four phases: in the first phase a theoretical adjustment, in the second one, a documentary survey was carried out on the city of Altamira; in the third stage, the application of forms with sixty families was carried out in order to verify how present these spaces of resettlement with regard to socio-spatial development, in the fourth moment the systematization and the analysis of the raised material were done. In this sense it was possible to verify that the city's legislation and form of growth were changed for the creation of collective urban resettlements and how families are adapting in these new spaces.
