This work aimed to propose a landscape study for the whole of the city of São José do Rio Pardo, atthe inland of the state of São Paulo, Brazil, from the perspective of landscape ecodynamics analysis, based on Systems Theory.Among the questions that motivated the study is the lack of researches of this kind that may contributed management plans for this area. The methodology adopted, whichproposes the differentiation of the landscape's ecodynamic units according to thepedogenesis/morphogenesis balance. Geomorphological, geological, and pedological maps wereorganized, and drainage hierarchy, hypsometry, land use and occupation and environmental zoning maps were produced as synthesis documentation. The methodology adopted proposes the delimitation of environmental units with similar behavior in terms of natural processes, and the following units were delimited: convex tops, hills with constrained mountainridges, earth mounds, mild slopes and alluvial plains, and also matter emission, transmission and accumulation areas. The units were superposed with land-use classes, and the geodynamic state of the landscape was then defined.
